About Matthew M. Demczko, MD
About Matthew Demczko, MD, is an attending pediatrician, Clinical Education & Fellowship Director, and Inpatient Service Director with the Mitochondrial Medicine Program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Demczko is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College and the Jefferson/Nemours Pediatric Residency Program, where he also served as Chief Resident. He is a complex care pediatrician and pediatric hospitalist whose clinical practice focuses on the care of children with medical complexity and pediatric rare disorders. His research efforts focus on improving how patients with mitochondrial disease and other rare diseases interact with the healthcare system, either through improved care coordination, innovative care models, and novel therapeutics.
